About the Journal

International  Journal  of  Bangladesh Society  for  Human  Resource  Management

(IJBSHRM)is the first Human Resource Management research journal in Bangladesh. It is published by the Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM), the largest professional association of HRM scholars and practitioners in the country. The journal works as a platform for Human Resource Management academics and professionals worldwide to share knowledge, generate new ideas, and to provide a forum for discussion and debate.

Aim
International Journal of Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Management is concerned with the current practices, advancements, and changing role of people management, human resource development, industrial relations, work, and employment in the society. It focuses on both theories and practices and thus emphasizes on understanding the critical and contemporary aspects of management of people in a broader sense covering social, industrial, economic and political concerns.

Scope
The journal seeks to publish scholarly articles on any aspect of human resource management and industrial relations which is drown from a solid empirical, theoretical, or conceptual ground. Therefore, the journal is open towards research papers, case studies, critical reviews and literature reviews (both qualitative and quantitative studies). Book reviews are also accepted. Articles should address contemporary issues, generate new knowledge and make a substantive contribution in real world situations, incorporate theories and empirical evidence, and offer well-founded conclusions with practical implications.

Author Guideline

International  Journal  of  Bangladesh Society  for  Human  Resource  Management

(IJBSHRM)is the first Human Resource Management research journal in Bangladesh. The journal works as a platform for Human Resource Management academics and professionals worldwide to share knowledge, generate new ideas, and to provide a forum for discussion and debate. The journal seeks to publish scholarly articles on any aspect of human resource management and industrial relations which is drown from a solid empirical, theoretical, or conceptual ground. Therefore, the journal is open towards research papers, case studies, critical reviews and literature reviews (both qualitative and quantitative studies). Book reviews are also accepted. Articles should address contemporary issues, generate new knowledge and make a substantive contribution in real world situations, incorporate theories and empirical evidence, and offer well-founded conclusions with practical implications.

Guidelines for the Authors:

1.    Originality: Submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, and a genuine work of the author(s). Manuscripts submitted for IJBSHRM cannot be previously submitted in anywhere else for publication.

2.    Format: Manuscript file must be provided in Microsoft Word format (.docx extension). The write-up should maintain font size 12 (twelve) of Times New Roman, double-spaced, with page numbering, on A4-sized paper format with 2.54 cm / 1 inch margin in all side. Submit only 1 (one) Word file for one manuscript, containing all figures and tables positioned in the appropriate places inside the article.
 
3.    Layout: The write-up should begin from the second page. The first page should contain the title of the article, name of the author(s), their affiliation, full postal address, telephone, and e-mail. For two or more authors, name of the corresponding author should be mentioned.

4.    Length: The ideal length of the manuscript is in between 4,000 (four thousand) to 7,000 (seven thousand) words including all figures and reference list.

5.    Abstract: The manuscript should have an abstract of not more than 150 words. It should contain a summary of the research purpose, research methodology or approach, findings and implications. Only the abstract should be typed with single line spacing.

6.    Keywords: Keywords should not exceed five in number and each one should be separated by a comma.

7.    Headings: Headings must be concise, with a clear indication of the distinction between the hierarchy of headings. The preferred format is for first level headings to be presented in bold format and subsequent sub-headings to be presented in medium italics.

8.    Language: The manuscript must be written correctly either in American English or British English. A mixture of both is highly discouraged. Manuscript should be free from all kinds of grammatical errors. Inconsistent and incoherent write-up shall be rejected outright.

9.    Figures: All figures and diagrams should commensurate with the font size of the article and should be placed within the paragraphs.

10.    Submission: All manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief, email: ijbshrm@gmail.com. Once received, the author(s) will be sent a manuscript receipt confirmation email with a unique number assigned for the manuscript. Please use your assigned manuscript number in the subject line for all email communications. The author(s) should retain a copy of the manuscript for his/her own reference.

11.    Review: Manuscripts will be accepted for publication on understanding that they are subjected to editorial revision. All submissions shall go through a double-blind peer review process. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author(s) will be communicated through email and asked to submit their revised manuscript incorporating the changes and corrections if any, as suggested by the reviewers.
 
12. Referencing: Author(s) must follow APA style of refereeing and in-text citation, available at http://www.apastyle.org. A sample is provided below:

About BSHRM
The Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM) is the largest professional human resource membership association in Bangladesh. It is headquartered in Dhaka. The organization was conceived in December 2001 and formally inaugurated in April 2002 by the Honorable President of Bangladesh. With the mission to promote the practice of human resources management in corporate and academia, it currently has over 2500 members working across private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. The Society promotes HR practices across the employment sectors and provides training, certification, networking, and knowledge sharing platform to its members. With the legal status of an Association of Persons, the BSHRM was registered by the Registrar of Joint Stock Company under the Bangladesh Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act No. XXI of 1860). A 15-member Executive Committee, all HR academics and professionals across the sectors, is responsible for overall management of the Society.
